Mr. Philip Walsh, an experienced compliance professional offering clients regulatory advice with a particular focus on start-ups operating within the investment business sector and, in particular, stockbroking, asset management (including AIFMs and CPMIs) and investment banking firms, has joined HighCastle, the world’s biggest investment marketplace based in the UK as its Regulatory Compliance Director.
HighCastle already provides access to over 8 891 investment opportunities with a combined value of £ 3.6 billion. HighCastle investment marketplace is designed to tokenize private securities and alternative investments with the use of HighCastle’s SmartNotes under UK FCA legal framework, which allows to structure cross-border investments and create a secondary market for private securities and alternative investments. Mr. Philip Walsh will lead the HighCastle’s FCA authorization process, regulatory Compliance functions (including KYC and AML compliance) in accordance with, inter alia, FCA and MIFID I/II needs and requirements. Mr. Philip Walsh · will provide advice and undertake activities to ensure that HighCastle complies with the GDPR insofar as it applies to HighCastle’s FCA functions.
Along with the aforesaid, Mr. Walsh is an experienced compliance professional who commenced his career — initially as a compliance consultant at Bovill — in 2003. Since 2003, Philip has gained a significant amount of experience — both as a consultant and in-house professional — within many different sectors of the financial services industry, serving at position of Head of Compliance and Corporate Finance Executive at Zimmerman Adams International and ZAI Corporate Finance, Principal Consultant at ACA Compliance (Europe) Ltd, Regulatory Consultant at Norton Rose and Complyport. Most recently, Philip established his own consultancy practice offering clients regulatory advice with a particular focus on start-ups operating within the investment business sector and, in particular, stockbroking, asset management (including AIFMs and CPMIs) and investment banking firms.
Through the provision of these services to clients, Philip has developed a good understanding of the FCA rules, and relevant related rules and regulations and is able to interpret (and therefore advise on) such rules in a clear and succinct manner. Philip’s client-friendly and enthusiastic approach allows him to develop good working relationships with colleagues and clients whilst performing his responsibilities in a sound and efficient fashion.
